DAY 01: CUSCO-AGUAS CALIENTES (TOWN OF MACHUPICCHU)
04:00 – 12:00: Transfer – Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes
At ATV CUSCO, we take care of managing the purchase of train tickets and entrance tickets to Machu Picchu, adapting to your preferences and according to the availability of services at the time of purchase.
The start of the excursion will depend on the availability of tickets at the time of booking and the coordination between the access times to Machu Picchu. This is a shared tour, in which you will have the bus transportation service provided by the train company, which will take you to the train station and return you at the end of the tour.
The trip from Cusco generally begins between 03:45 and 04:30, with a transfer from your hotel to the bus station. From there, you will take the bus to the Ollantaytambo train station, which will take approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, depending on traffic. Then take the train to the citadel.
The train ride to Aguas Calientes, the picturesque town near Machu Picchu, takes about 1.5 hours. Upon arrival, a member of our team will meet you at the train station to indicate the meeting points and provide you with all the necessary information for the guided tour to Machu Picchu.
At the assigned time, you will go to the Aguas Calientes bus station to board the tourist transport that will take you to the entrance of Machu Picchu. During the guided tour, you will have the opportunity to explore according to the purchased circuit, which includes temples, fountains, staircases and a variety of architectural structures of this majestic archaeological site.
The tour, which lasts approximately 2 hours, will be an enriching experience, where the guide will offer you historical facts and fascinating details about Machu Picchu, as well as giving you time to capture the best views and photos of the place.
13:00 – 19:00: Free time and return to Cusco
After the guided tour, you will board the tourist bus back to Aguas Calientes.
Depending on the time of your entrance ticket, you will have the possibility to have lunch before or after the visit. Later, you will take the train from Aguas Calientes back to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, a shared shuttle service will take you to the Cusco bus station, where a vehicle will be waiting to take you back to Cusco. The tour ends at Plaza Regocijo.
Important: The itinerary may be adjusted depending on the availability of access times to Machu Picchu and the train category selected.

Briefing one day before the tour.
Transfer from accommodation in the historic center of Cusco or Ollantaytambo. Sometimes access is limited by the narrow streets of the city; if this is the case, the guide will suggest a nearby point to look for them.
Return to the lodging (private tours) or Plaza “Regocijo” (One block away from the Plaza de Armas in Cusco).
