Itinerary of the Tour to Maras Moray:
08:00 – 08:30: Pick up from lodging – Sacred Valley
After you have breakfast at your accommodation, between 8:00 – 08:30 our professional guide passes by the lodge to transport you to Maras, a small colonial town and one of the 4 pink salt producers in the world.
Once you get to the Qaqa Wiñay mountain (3,380 masl / 11,080 ft) you appreciate the Inca ingenuity by digging more than 3,000 mines or pools in the mountain for the exploitation of salt, thanks to a manual system for the extraction of the mineral, which due to its effectiveness it is maintained to this day.
It will be the turn to get to know the town of Moray, highlighted mainly by the existence of 3 “coliseums”, circular platforms or terrace systems that the Incas used for their crops, activating in the same geographical space, different microclimates for agricultural production, generating different temperatures between the depressions of the terraces, built according to the orientation of the sun and wind.
13:30 – 14:00: Return to Cusco
After knowing two of the most popular attractions of the Sacred Valley, it is time to return to Cusco, arriving at Plaza Regocijo around 2:00 p.m.
After doing this tour, you will have time to live a new excursion with ATV CUSCO, allowing you to enjoy, explore and discover the wonders of Peru in a tour, more than physical.
Include
Departure from the lodging in the historic center of Cusco. The streets of the city are narrow, an aspect that limits vehicular access to certain places; in this case the guide will suggest a nearby point to pass looking for you and enjoy the tour.
Return to Plaza “Regocijo” (One block away from the Plaza de Armas in Cusco) (Historic Center of the city).
