4:00 – 06:30: Pickup from your accommodation – Transportation to Cusipata – Breakfast
The tour begins between 04:00 and 04:30 when an ATV CUSCO representative will pick you up from your accommodation to start the journey to Cusipata, a village located south of Cusco. Upon arrival at the Tintinco community, you will enjoy a traditional breakfast before beginning the adventure. You will also have the opportunity to purchase last-minute items such as beverages, snacks, and sunscreen.
06:30 – 07:30: Tintinco – Phulawasipata – Hike
From Tintinco, the hike begins with a one-hour ascent to the Phulawasipata camp (4,600 meters / 15,091 feet). Along the way, you will be able to appreciate the stunning Andean landscape, pass through rural communities, and see alpacas in their natural habitat.
08:00 – 09:30: Hike to the Raibow Mountain
Upon reaching the base of the mountain, our professional guide will provide instructions to continue the ascent, which takes approximately one and a half hours. During the hike, you will be surrounded by majestic mountains and rocky hills of the Peruvian Andes, with llamas and alpacas along the way. Arriving early at the Rainbow Mountain (5,200 meters / 17,060 feet) will allow you to enjoy the landscape without large crowds, while admiring the impressive valleys and the snow-capped Ausangate Mountain, the fifth-highest peak in the world.
10:15 – 13:30: Red Valley – Return to the Base Camp
After this unforgettable experience, you can choose to return directly to the base camp or explore the Red Valley, also known as “Mars” due to its reddish, desert-like terrain. In this unique Andean landscape, you’ll find vicuñas and other wild camelids. After exploring the area, you will begin the one-hour descent to the transport, which will take you back to Cusipata.
13:30 – 17:00: Cusipata – Lunch – Return to Cusco
Back in Cusipata, you will enjoy a buffet lunch with authentic Peruvian cuisine, including vegan and vegetarian options. After replenishing your energy, you will return to Cusco by private transport, arriving at Plaza Regocijo around 17:00.
